From a single plot, low in organic matter but rich in minerals, particularly calcareous, these young Carignan Blanc vines are harvested much later though the fruit retains exceptional acidity, due to the nature of the varietal and the mineral nature of the soil. 30 days maceration on skins before the wine is passed to amphora for 5 months. A silky, amber coloured with a richness that is balanced by it acidity.
Ferran’s passion is rooted in Penedès. All of Ferran’s plots are on the raised plateau of Alt Penedès, 300-350m above sea level on clay-calcareous soil, perfect for that balance of round fruit and with a fresh limestone finish.
Ferran makes exclusively single plot wines that express their individual micro-climates and unique soil structures. He goes so far as to even harvest different parts of a single plot separately and vinifying them individually, making wines that are ultimately balanced and precise.
